FAQ
What does therapy look like?
When I was younger, I was given a bookmark with a Leonard Cohen quote saying “There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” I feel like this embodies how I view therapy. My goal always is to make meaning out of pain and help you understand how it has molded you into the person you are today. You take the lead as the expert on yourself. I am simply here to help with directions.
What types of therapy do you do?
Person Centered- I believe you are the expert on yourself. Because of this, my role as your therapist is to help aid in your learning and growth rather than show you what to do. The focus of learning and growth looks different for everyone, ranging from work on your past self to your current relationships.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy- In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (also known as CBT,) the focus is around reorganizing or reworking unhealthy thoughts or patterns of thought you are experiencing.
Existential Therapy- I am not a big believer in everything happens for a reason. However, I do believe in making meaning out of our experiences. In therapy, I want to walk with you through the moments that have brought you here and discover what's next.
What kind of issues do you treat?
Depression
Anxiety
